Dear Jack,

A remarkable photo taken c.1910. As you no doubt know, mass migrations of peoples have crossed the Caucasus for thousands of years; Alexander the Great, The Roman Legions, the Crusaders and Napoleon's army were all there. Many stayed and over 200 separate and distinct languages were spoken there. That's why one recognizes such European-like faces there.
